Thursday Thirteen #37

Thirteen Things for which I'm Thankful

1. Jesus Christ my Savior and Sustainer, especially during some dark days this summer.
2. That my family is intact.
3. My nine month old nephew who is celebrating his very first Thanksgiving. It'll be good to see his sweet face at the table tomorrow.
4. Being in the best health since I was a little girl.
5. That I've been able to lose over 71 pounds and am keeping it off.
6. Friends, many of whom are spread all over the country, and some of whom I've never met in person, but who support, encourage, and love me as much as any "real life" friends do.
7. My alma mater, of which I am ridiculously proud.
8. My library card -- all the books I can read and it doesn't cost me a penny!
9. Clay Aiken...yes, Clay Aiken. His voice gives me chills and thrills, he makes me laugh, and he awes me with his service to others through UNICEF, his own foundation that benefits children with disabilities, and all the other humanitarian efforts in which he involves himself. It's never boring or embarrassing to be a Clay Aiken fan.
10. Cheese. I love cheese. Cheese makes everything better. It made my birthday better when I opened my first present and found a gigantic tub of feta cheese. :)
11. Toilet paper. Just think, we'd still be wiping on leaves if we didn't have toilet paper, and we might end up like my grandmother when she accidentally grabbed the WRONG variety of leaf for that particular job. Oy.
12. Thanksgiving dinner...we are going to have a carb-laden spread and I can't wait to dig in!
13. That we get to decorate for Christmas this weekend! Yay!!

Wonderful list, full of plenty of great things to be thankful for. I hope you have a wonderful day today (eat ALL you want!) and a fun upcoming weekend.

I'm a Clay Aiken fan! I went to many, many, many (did I say many?) concerts. Took some great photos and had a blast. I still wear a lot of Clay t-shirts and have a "I'd rather be at a Clay Aiken concert" license plate holder.

Smiles,
Holly

Lovely list. And today, over dinner, I shall tell my 9 year old nephew what happened to your grandmother. He's a great kid but, like all second grade boys, NOTHING captures his attention like a good story about bodily functions gone wrong. Happy Thanksgiving, and thanks for visiting my TT.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful list. We don't have Thanksgiving here but I love the idea behind this special celebration.
